Top Three Short Scenes
Good morning, Effers – please forgive my inability to get the technology figured out to do this properly and on time! And thank you to the Effers who so kindly gave me tips and pointers. For this time, though I do not prefer it, I will be linking to the winning scenes (thank you, Brian, good solution for now).
So, at long last, we have:

NICK expanded to a page and a quarter when written in standard 12 point Courier; TMZ did not contain the word ‘felicity;’ MEGA misspells ‘reins’ twice and drops Blitzen from Santa’s team of reindeer without explanation. Hmmmmmmm…..
Nick was, by far, the best out of the top three. So it went a little long when in “12 point Courier”. It still met all the other criteria. It is a creative, fun, scene that felt like it took a good amount of time and effort to create. The other two scenes were “OK” but Nick was really great.

Martin B, not sure if reading is important when judging these sorts of things, I mean I always thought it was; but clearly it’s not for you because TMZ has “felicities” is in the first paragraph.
TMZ was awesome!!
NICK had all the elements down correctly. It gave a great insight to man who is over 2,000 years old having a mid-life crisis. Denial, abandonment issues and taking his frustrations out on someone who has supported his efforts for centuries makes this piece work. In any script if you can get down character set-up, environment and motivation in one single opening page…you’ve nailed it. This is what editors and producers want.

I thought all three were great, any writer knows how much time and effort it takes to pull this off. Each writer had a “voice”, that’s what pulled me into the scenes.
Kudos to those who entered, I spent at least three hours on mine, and I’m sure I’m not alone. It was a good exercise and a nice chance to read other writer’s works. Congrats to everyone.
