Yes! Emotional truth is the truth that is the most important for me to convey, as a creator. As a viewer, if I can't identify with or be affected by the characters and their lives, special effects and a pretty smile will not do it for me.

Best,

Let's make a movie!

p.s. - I really enjoy your voice here, and in your podcasts. Acerbic, but not mean. Essentially, optimistic and inspiring. Neat! ;)

I feel the same way about Extreme Home Makeover, I know what's going to happen, but every time, EVERY SINGLE TIME I watch it I sob like a puffy cheeked baby. Emotional story telling works.

I'm such a sucker for a good underdog story that no matter how cheezball it is, that moment when the least likely to succeed manages to pull through and go for their dream gets me EVERY TIME. The other day I found myself tearing up at Jennifer Beals's horrible horrible dance audition in FLASHDANCE. A pseudo-stripper's breakdancing made me CRY, Julie. Because she was livin' her dream, dammit.
