Another Just Effing Success!
Hilary Graham was the very first ever winner of the Silver Screenwriting Competition (now the Just Effing Screenwriting Competition: doors open March 30th; watch this space!).
She had an incredible time coming out to LA and collecting her prizes (meeting the late Blake Snyder for a drink, meeting Steve Faber, co-writer of THE WEDDING CRASHERS, having lunch at the Paramount Studios commissary, and more…)
Hilary has since turned her attention to writing a YA book. Which Simon & Schuster is publishing! I am so proud of Hil and I asked her to give us some information about the book. I don’t know about you but I’m going to beeline when it comes out, this June. Please join me in congratulating Hilary on her achievement and in supporting another writer out there like you who stuck to it and made good!
And I will also point out, in this brave, new, electronic world, this is a chance for you to network with Hilary. Follow her on Facebook and on Twitter!
Go Hilary!!
REUNITED – Synopsis (Coming from Simon & Schuster – June 12, 2012)
1 Concert. 2,000 Miles. 3 Ex-Best Friends
Alice, Summer, and Tiernan are ex-best friends. Back in middle school, the three girls were inseparable. They were also the number one fans of the rock band Level3. But when the band broke up, so did their friendship. Summer ran with the popular crowd, Tiernan was a rebellious wild-child, and Alice spent high school with her nose buried in books. Now, just as the girls are about to graduate, Level3 announces a one-time-only reunion show. Even though the concert’s 2000 miles away, Alice buys three tickets on impulse. And as it turns out, Summer and Tiernan have their own reasons for wanting to get out of town. But on the long drive cross-country, the girls hit more than a few bumps in the road. Will their friendship get an encore or is the show really over?
